"Elysium" Poem by hhcash

Posted by hhcash - March 15th, 2009

Sup dudes, this is a poem i wrote a while ago. Like most of my poetry, this one, in theory, is very abstract, and represents a bleak, completely irrational situation in the point of view of an innocent human victim. It's not a metaphor of reality, as it's just a story of a trippy, dytopian world out there.
-----------------------------

Pale
Too deep to view
possible failures
The Cause of revelation
Is this a dream?
Why is everything always changing?

Nothingness turns to dust
that fills up our lungs
with anxiety

Memories from the future
Scratch marks that make pretty shapes
Clouds laugh
before spitting rain at you
You Feel it go right through you
then Everything becomes transparent
Even though Everything is still there
It's just that
You Aren't.

I approve.

I am overwhelmed with a sense of hopelessnes and despair...

is that sarcasm?

Yes. But that WAS a very dark poem.

You haven't seen anything. I have some of the scariest, darkest visions sometimes. I try to turn them into poems, songs, or drawings.

Why can't there be poems that helps you stay positive.

It's healthier to write then to go watch a stupid movie whenever we're in a negative mood.
